Tips & Advice

What is skin camouflage?
It is a method of hiding or disguising skin imperfections such as scars, eczema, vitiligo, tattoos etc. Cover creams are applied over any areas of the face and body where there is a colour difference. They therefore offer individuals the opportunity to take control over their appearance and, often, gain confidence by so doing.

What are the most common reasons for using skin camouflage products?
  • Waterproof
  • Opaque
  • Long lasting
  • Control over your colours

How much do I use?
Incredibly small amounts....refer to the Varama mixing guide.

Can I select colours from other skin categories other than my own?
Yes, within all races there scales of light to dark and your skin colour may cross over the ethnic groups. Have fun experimenting!

How long does a tube last?
Approximately 1 year depending upon the size of area to be covered and the frequency of application

Is it alright to use sunscreen?
Yes, but remember to apply it before the cover cream and allow plenty of time to let it dry before you apply the cover cream.

Can children use cover creams?
Yes. Boys and girls can easily apply and achieve great results.

Does heat and perspiration affect the coverage?
Varama products are waterproof and will stay on; however avoid extreme conditions such as saunas.

Are there healing properties in the cover creams?
No, but the skin will benefit from the skin moisturising properties in the cover creams.

Do I always have to apply in layers?
Yes. This is essential to achieve a natural and long lasting application.

Do I need to apply a powder?
No. This is not required for the Varama range. One of the key features of the newly formulated Varama range is that the setting agent is within the formula and will dry and set naturally.

Can I apply over a bruise?
This is absolutely fine; just be careful not to press too hard.

What do I do if my skin changes colour on holiday?
The perfect solution is to increase your darker base to match the surrounding skin. The drop-in should remain the same.

What is the difference between camouflage cream and cover cream?
None. They are just different names for the same product.
