10 After Care Tips For Skin Camouflage

17/10/2017

10 great skin camouflage after care tips, with advice on use with your own make-up, moisturising lotions, sun creams, shower and bath oils.
Picture
  1. Topical medication may be applied underneath, sun protection under or over and make up over the set camouflage.
  2. Regularly wash your brushes, powder puffs and sponges with a hand wash or soap. Rinse and store away dry.
  3. Gently massage and thoroughly remove camouflage daily with a cleanser. Remove with damp cotton wool or wipes.
  4. Do not wear tight clothing or accessories on the covered area. Friction will cause removal or transfer of the product.
  5. Avoid moisturising lotions, creams, shower and bath oils which will create a 'slip effect'.
  6. Household detergents will remove the camouflage.
  7. If possible take a shower not a bath. Avoid excess heat e.g. saunas and steam rooms.
  8. When your skin becomes wet, gently pat your skin dry, do not rub.
  9. Store products away from direct sunlight. Dispose of products after the 'use before date' has expired.
  10. Apply the camouflage preferably in natural day light.

Please note:
  • If a skin reaction occurs remove all traces of the products immediately from the skin.
  • Seek medical advice as soon as possible.
  • Do not apply products over rashes, open wounds, surgical stitches or infections.

Case Study: Yes or No to Skin Camouflage?

Skin Camouflage:

Skin camouflage is suitable as long as there is a colour difference, so that the surrounding skin can be matched. Our work can help men, women and children with multiple variations of skin pigmentation through to minor discolourations on the face and body.

There are many instances of patients requesting help for what may be considered ‘minor’ differences in the appearance of their skin. This raises the question of treatment suitability? With over 20 years of clinical skin camouflage experience and helping patients on a day to day basis, the rule of thumb must be to listen to the patient and be honest with realistic expectation, before treatment commences.

The main goal is to help the patient feel more comfortable with his or her appearance.  A thorough understanding of the patient's expectations in a professional clinical environment supports the decision making process between the patient and the practitioner and helps to arrive at a sensible outcome.

Skin Camouflage for scars - after

In this case, the gentleman requested help to camouflage the surgical scars between his face and his ears. The pale scars had healed well and were barely visible.

Varama Cover Cream 1 was blended with the Rose Drop-in. A thin layer was sufficient to cover the scar tissue. His ideal view of his scars and the actual view of his scars were resolved very quickly. Our practical work was brief and in fact we did very little, but he said he felt much happier within himself and pleased that he had the choice to cover or not to cover.

The Bloggers Drop In!

The Bloggers Drop In!
We’re very proud to share the experiences of Beauty bloggers using our Cover Creams. Using all forms of social media, they explain how makeup tips can support the makeup world and skin camouflage at the same time. They adore creating the best makeup looks for their followers and the girls of the makeup world created the trend…and so the blending began.

“Beauty bloggers have introduced an exciting new way to apply and wear our skin camouflage products – you can ‘Mix, Smudge and Experiment’ with the concentrated Varama Drop-in pigments by blending them with your foundations, blushers and SPF sun creams. We have discovered through our loyal customers and make up friends that there is a different way to apply our cover creams - so as always we listened to the positive feedback and have created 25% pigment intensity” says Vanessa Jane Davies MD

The concentrated new Varama Orange Drop in, Rose Drop in and Yellow Drop in are our best sellers and the feedback we have received is outstanding. The new Varama Tan Drop-in is expected to follow with sheer natural trends for the summer months.

The Drop ins are available in 15ml at £18.50 and 1.2ml at £9.00 for a set of 3.

Some of the trending comments so far…
This is the best creamy product I’ve used till date to work as blush. I’ve already reviewed Varama cover creams – Yellow, VC3 and VC4 here on Beauty Diaries, and as much as I was in love with them in camouflaging my skin imperfections with utmost finesse, so am I impressed with this particular product too. A very little amount is more than enough to cover both my cheeks and the product just melts and blends into the skin like a breeze. It gives a gorgeous glow to my skin which stays on me for whole day. I was really amazed at its staying power. It didn’t fade, it didn’t get patchy or flaky or any other weird thing; just simply stayed on my cheeks with same color and same consistency whole day. I simply don’t have enough words to praise it anymore now, so let us look into the likes and dislikes about this product below:

Below are some of the likes and dislikes that I’ve felt about this:

Likes:
  1. Lovely orangey-pink shade that just blends seamlessly into the skin to give a gorgeous natural glow.
  2. A very little pinch of product can cover both the cheeks, so one tube would definitely last you long.
  3. I was amazed at the staying power of this product. It just stays the way it is being set, for whole day, till you decide to wash it off.
  4. I’ve not experienced any kind of skin irritation or rashes from it.
  5. Comes in a easy tube packaging, which is travel friendly, hygienic and makes the usage very simple.

Dislikes:
No Dislike. Honestly, I cannot think of any except for the fact that it contains parabens
